Last Resort (Japanese: とっておき The Best) is a damage-dealing Normal-type move introduced in Generation IV. It can be upgraded to the special Z-Move Extreme Evoboost by Eevee holding Eevium Z.

Effect

This move effect may be in need of research.
Reason:
  • If Last Resort is called indirectly (such as by Sleep Talk, Mirror Move, or Metronome) but the user already knows Last Resort nonetheless, will it be usable in battle?
  • If the user has indirectly called another move that it already knows (such as by Sleep Talk, Mirror Move, or Metronome) but has not used this move normally, will Last Resort be usable?
  • If the user learns a new move by leveling up in battle, does the old move (if any) and/or the new move need to be used before Last Resort?
  • If the user's only known move was Last Resort at the start of battle, but then the user learns a new move by leveling up and uses it, will Last Resort be usable?
  • If the user acquires a new move as a result of Mimic or Sketch, does the new move need to be used before Last Resort?
  • If the user learns a move with Mimic, and then later learns a second copy of the same move by leveling up in battle, is the user required to use only one or two copies of the same move before Last Resort?
  • If the user has acquired Last Resort as a result of Transform, is Last Resort usable? Do the old moves (if any) and/or new moves (if any) need to be used before Last Resort?
  • If the user has acquired Last Resort as a result of Mimic, is Last Resort usable in battle?
You can discuss this on the talk page.

Last Resort inflicts damage and has no secondary effect. Last Resort will fail unless the Pokémon has used all of its other moves at least once while on the field. Using a move before switching out and back in does not count towards being able to use Last Resort. Last Resort will fail if it is the only move the user knows, or if the user does not know Last Resort (such as if it is called indirectly).

A move will still count as used for Last Resort even if it would have no effect, so for example, using Snore when the user is awake or a move missing due to accuracy or evasion.

Generation IV

Last Resort's power is 130.

Generation V onwards

Last Resort's power has been increased to 140.
